This sandwich is the king of sandwiches. I’ve been craving a b.l.t for awhile and then I realized that an egg would make take this from good, to amazing! I was right.
I cooked the egg so it’s oozy, but not super runny. It doesn’t make a huge mess, but you still get that yolk seeping out…mmmm. I mean if I can’t have cheese on a sandwich an egg is a pretttty good substitute, and really it’s healthier for you on the whole isn’t it? I think I can settle for now.
I made this recipe for fathers day, and it. was. a. learning process… I do not make many pies. Even with that taken into consideration it was surprisingly very well liked! (take note beginner bakers!! Just kidding.)
My brother even said, “You’ve been getting better at this stuff.” It was quite the compliment.
Since I’ve been experimenting a lot with breakfast recently, I’ve realized trying to cut down on bread and cereal is hard! And then what’s left is things with cheese; omelettes, scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwiches etc. So…I mean that makes me sad, because I miss cheese soso much.
What I’ve come up with are eggs with things other than cheese. This is where the potatoes came in.
I found another substitute for one of my former dairy loves. Avocado milkshakes! I was sceptical at first because I’m not actually a big fan of plain avocado, but Oh. My. Goodness am I glad I was wrong.
I’m not sure what this weird little fruit does when it’s mixed in with milk (or a milk alternative) and I don’t really care. What it creates is a thick awesome tasting shake!
I’ll let you in on a secret.. nothing makes my weekends better than watching cooking shows and enjoying french bread. Well, okay maybe a trip somewhere would be awesome too. But! I mean for a normal weekend, french bread is pretty great.
I used to eat it with a nice big piece of cold butter (can’t you see I’m healthy!), which hasn’t been happening these days. I’m still hopeful it will again soon.
These cookies are the kind everybody should have in their baking rotation. Then we would no longer have to suffer through eating sub-par cookies.
Just kidding..I’m sure your usual cookies are good! But these might be better.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I love english scones. These are the kinds of scones I dream about having again in London…with jam…clotted cream…and tea. I really think they were the highlight of my visits there.
So, this past Victoria Day when I was feeling particularly festive, I thought “Why not make my own! It can’t be too hard right?”. It really wasn’t and now I can enjoy these scones anytime I like.
